Hello and all the best from NFCSC,

I’ve been making every effort to write you before now, but as you know, the COVID-19 status is constantly changing. I did not want to share information before it could be confirmed. I can only pray that a retraction from this note will not be necessary. Nevertheless, I want to you know that SUMMER CAMP IS ON!

We’ve been listening to you, and our earnest desire is to provide another memorable summer camp experience.  We are moving toward that goal. Planning for an event of this size is not easy, particularly when others are making the rules. Governor DeSantis made an announcement that the state of Florida will begin reopening the economy in Phase 1 beginning Monday, May 4.  When we get to Phase 2, we will be able to have summer camp programming.  It is our belief and hope that we will be able to start our summer camp sessions on June 6 as planned. However, there will be stipulations in place which will not allow everything to be business as usual.  With that in mind, let me explain how it will be different.

It is and has always been our desire to provide your children with a memorable, life changing experience in a safe environment. This summer will be no different. But in order to do this the first major change will be the number of campers in each program. If our governor follows the President’s reopening guidelines, Phase 2 should allow us to have 50 campers per session, which will allow for safe social distancing. Each camp program will have two sessions and each session will be three nights long. There will be a reduction in cost because of the shorter sessions. It is our belief that we can have a safe and impactful camp season while following the CDC and governor’s guidelines.

Please consider following us on Facebook @NFCSC and Instagram @n.fl.christiancamp for updates and announcements.

It is because of you that we are able to continue this ministry for these children. You have been faithful in your prayers and support and it is so very appreciated. We took a significant financial hit with all the retreat cancellations this spring and will need to rely heavily on contributions to make summer camp happen. To provide a higher level of safety will require additional equipment, supplies and labor.  The costs are adding up. Some churches have increased their giving, individuals have stepped up and many of our ministry partners have been graceful in making needed adjustments. Like no other time before, we need your help to carry on God’s mission in this place.

Thank you. It is encouraging to know that we share the same goal in this ministry. This summer presents a greater challenge than we’ve ever seen before.  Yet with faith in each other and all hope in Christ, we look forward to the most amazing summer we’ve ever experienced.

Be safe and we look forward to seeing you this summer.
